The Big Knit 2010 was launched in August. It is an annual event run by Innocent Drinks. The idea is that knitters make little hats that fit on the top of a smoothie bottle, and send them to Innocent. During November, Sainsbury's and Boots sell bottles wearing hats, and for every such bottle sold 25p is donated to Age UK. The event has run each year since 2003, and the aim this year is to put hats on 800,000 bottles.
- There's a pdf with three starter patterns available
- A Pattern of the Week appears on the Innocent blog
- Also on the blog: Hats of the Week are selected from those sent in, and you can even vote to help select the winner. And several patterns from previous years
- The Ozzy Blackbeard Knits blog includes several original patterns
Sounds like fun, why not have a go?!
