Knit a flat circle and make a great accessory for the home! The clock is worked from the centre outwards, and includes slip stitch patterns to produce the coloured stripes. Suitable for an Intermediate skill level. The finished size is the same as a CD (12 cm / 4.75 in) in diameter.
Materials and notions One 50 g ball of DK-weight yarn (e.g. 50% cotton, 50% acrylic; 140 yds / 130 m) is needed in each of three colours. Or approx 5.5 yds / 5 m, 12 yds / 11m and 27 yds / 25 m of the colours. A set of US 2.5 / 3 mm dpn and a US 2.5 / 3 mm circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge. Plus 4 stitch markers, tapestry needle, a CD and a CD clock kit.

CD clock kits are widely available. The kit should include the quartz clock mechanism with a spindle roughly 7 mm across, two or three clock hands and a nut and washers for fixing the clock to the CD. I got mine here.
